There is a little confusion here on the records for George.
His confirmation lists his name as George Wilhelm which could
signify the early use of George W. Kiesel however later he seems to
use the middle initial of "H" in the census. I would take this
to mean a shortened version of Whilhelm or "Harry" as used on the
birth record for Ernest. I want some one to confirm
1884 - Although George had been in Hawaii since 1881, he is
reconfirmed in the Lihue Lutheran Church on Kauai.
Entry number 77
Date of birth: 21 December 1884
Full name of child: KIESEL, Georg Wilhelm Gustav Johann
Place of birth: Lihue
Parents of child: laborer Carl Kiesel and his wife Augusta nee Funke
Date of baptism: 15 February 1885
Godparents: laborer Georg Kobbe, laborer Wilhelm Henning,
smith Gustav Manthey and
laborer Johann Bomke all
1887 - Karl Kiesel applies for immigration and states that he was
a resident of Washington State. [immigration application papers]
apparently brings most of the family with him and may have come to
Seattle with other German immigrants from Hawaii.
