Niels Bech was a major individual in the history of north Jutland.

1628 - Niels matriculated from the University of Copenhagen. He was a magister (master or teacher).

1633 - He was possibly enrolled in the Univesity of Lyden.

1635 - Niels Lauritsen Bech is appointed vicar of Hjørring , pastor and Dean of Hjørring's Saint Catharina church, and responsibilities to St. Hans and St. Olai.

1637 - He is appointed the Dean of Vennebjerg township.

Laurids Nielsen Bcck follows in his father role as merchant and alderman from later in 1671. He is mentioned in church records as having hired an organist for the village church on 14 February 1671.

1672, August - After a convivial evening of partying he was attacked by a brutal and rambling Søren Bering, who pierced him through with a sword about the shoulder blade.
