This line is still in need of much research if anyone has information on the Clark family of South Carolina or Alabama, I would very much like to know about it.
This family came from France and were probably Huguenots run out of the country of French by Louis XIV's army. After spending a short time in England they came to the colonies where eventually Benjamin Benoit Brassieur become a citizen of Virginia.
This family group was the main reason I started genealogy research eight years ago. My mother had always told me that I was related to Robert Burns the great Scottish poet. Since then I have found a number of Scottish relatives but so far no Robert Burns in my background. This line is still in need of much research if anyone has information on the Burns of Alabama or South Carolina, I would very much like to know about it.

There are a number of links here to family
photos with image map links. The Scandinavian's first name are used as
the last name of their sons or daughter, thus Christian's son Paul
would be Paul Christenson

The Hollaway family probably came from England but the original immigrant of the family has not been found to this date. Our earliest record of an appropriately placed ancestor is in King and Queen County, Virginia before 1703.

Other spellings of the name are found in the
census as Macen, McInne, Machin,Machan Macken, Makin or Mackin although
the family usually spells it Machen. My own lineage is from these
Machens.

All of the following ancestors were born in
or near Odby, Denmark on the Jutland pennisula.
The original ancestor of this family came to the Colonies as zealot missionaries after their more radical relative, James Renwick, was the last Covenanter religious martyr to be hung in Scotland in 1688. The family then fleed to Ireland from which they immigrated to South Carolina.
The actual name of this family probably came from the farm on which Evan, Paul's son was raised or worked in Loten, Norway.
This line is still in need of much research if anyone has information on the Roney of South Carolina, I would very much like to know about it.

The Terry family starts with Thomas Terry, an Episcopal Methodist missionary, who immigrated to South Carolina about 1790.
This family links up with the Hollaway family in the Natchez Territory very quickly after the American Revolution.
