1816- Rebecca is born to
Robert Hollaway and Rebecca Wells whose parents were early settlers of
this region and probably came from North Carolina/Virginia in the late
1700's.
1835- 27 May - Rebecca
marries Dempsey Benton Cain. ( his 1m to Sarah McCall 25 Dec 1832 - no
children).
1836 - Dempsey P. Cain,
a probable uncle to Dempsey B. Cain, is elected to Sheriff of Franklin
Co., Miss. He is also a gunsmith and master carpenter also operated a
tanning mill near the race track. [Hadshy, ]
1850 - D. B. and Rebecca
are still in Franklin Co., Miss. He is listed as a blacksmith. They
apparently are doing rather well but besides the above listed children
they also have two other Hollaways living with them. The two Hollaway
boys were probably orphaned of Rebecca' s brother George who in died
Dec.1845. [U.S. census, Franklin Co.]

want it know till after the marriage - which will thursday next with
