He is given a grade of private with no branch of service listed. He had 1 year of high school, was single without dependents, height 5' 6 inches and civil occupation as a General Farmer. [WW II Army Enlishment Records, 1938-1946]

Irvin Grimland and Vernell marry at St. Olaf's Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap, Texas.

1949- Vernell Johnson marries Irvin Grimland at St Olaf's Church, Cranfills Gap, Texas. Elroy Christenson is the "ring bearer" and Ima Jean, his sister, is the "flower girl".

Irvin and Vernell had a farm in the area.

2002, Feb 3 Irvin Grimland born Aug 21, 1922 dies in Texas.
Irvin apparently received the Purple Heart during WWII as a pfc in the U. S. Army. I don't know what the history of the Purple Heart award was for but normally for being wounded in action.

Both Irvin and Vernell are buried in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Norse, Bosque Co., Texas.

2011- 20 Sep - Vernell Grimland born 5 Jan 1929 dies in Clifton, Bosque Co., TX [ SS Death Index 1935 - current]
Irvin and Vernell had children but I have no knowledge of their names or whereabouts.
