The research here was done by Cora Christofferson from Danish church
records. Since Denmark was one of the last areas of europe to
adopt
catholicism, the records of births and death are limited only to the
time
beginning with these church records. These churches later became
Lutheran. Most of these records are maintained in local archives and
were
microfilmed by the LDS. We still have an incomplete history of this
family
and I look forward to information that can complete the lists of the
children.
1713, 1 Oct - The marriage of Jeppe
Povelsen and Anne Michelsdatter
is recorded in the Parish records of Odby, Thisted county,
Denmark. This if from the photographed then digital record of the
marriages of Denmark by the LDS. [LDS mar. of 1713]
The children listed here are from christening records of the LDS who
photographed the parish records. They were listed as the
children of Jep Poulsen and Anne Michelsdatter.
Since there are two Poul and two Karen children listed here I believe
that these earlier children died before the second was
born. This seemed to have been a common practise of the
time.
1721, Jul 6 - Zidtzel Jepsdatter
marries Povel Madtzon in Odby,
Thisted, Denmark. [LDS mar.] Although this is the
only person with this name in Odby and of the proper age I can't
confirm that this is Jeppe's daughter.
