In 1535 the King of England Henry VIII adds "of the Church of England in Earth, under Jesus Christ, Supreme Head" to his royal style. Henry proclaims himself, not the Pope, to be the head of the Church of England. [Timeline_of _the_English_Reformation.  wikipedia 2020]

In 1536 the county of Flintshire in Wales was established under the direction of Henry VIII under the Laws in Wales Acts 1535-1542.  [wikipedia 2020] Whether this had anything to do with the family moving into Cheshire County, England is still an open question. Flintshire county has a long history of being a center of industry even in the 1500's and is on the border with England. Hardwarden, Wales is a rather short distance from Bromborough, England and border definition in this era was probably very relaxed.   I'm still researching the occupation of this family.  Several families seem very committed to become ministers in the 1600's.  If the family was ultra religious they may have lost their position in Henry VIII's government but other industries also have other possibilities such as slate mining nearby or tanning leather.
