We have little information on this family except for the list based on
the submitted computer files of David J. Chapman and Byrona Wadworth.
It has not been discovered who Samuel's wife may have been or even if
she came over with the other children. Some of the family history says
that Samuel was one of three brothers, William, Jeremiah and Samuel, to
have come to the colonies at the same time. They are said to have first
settled in Donegal Township, Lancaster Co., PA.
According to Chapman, Samuel Sturgeon "migrated to America in 1730
and settled near Harrisburg, Pennsylvannia. He had likely married
around 1702-1705 but his wife's name is not known or whether she was
alive at the time the family came to America."
To quote from the McCoy: Samuel, propositus, died about sixty, and
Samuel I about forty-five, while Jeremiah I and Henry I having safely
passed these points, lived well into the eighties and John I is said to
have died in his 110th year.
1740 - Samuel Sturgeon dies about this year.
