allowance of 6 acres p. cent for roads, etc. Surveyed April 7, 1767, in
pursuance of an Order of Survey to John Sturgeon bearing date at
Philadelphia Jan 16 1767 and numbered 2444

Gives description of land. John Sturgeon paid 16 pounds, 1 shilling,
and 4 pence for 321 acres and 51 perches. Manor of Lowther. Rent due 1

by 1784 - John Sturgeon shows up next in Kentucky.

John Sturgeon and his son James had settle in the area now known as Hart County, Kentucky. Another son John also went with them but soon joined his brother Robert in Crawford County, Indiana.
1830- John is listed in the census as part of the James Sturgeon family. His age is listed in the "over 100" column. He could have been 110 years old when he died according to some researchers of the McCoy family. [Chapman, GENE3-0006.html]
