1865, Aug 25 - Elijah and Nancy marry after his returning from the Civil War in Henry Co. Alabama.

1867, Aug. 1 - Wm. Kirkland was the first surviving child born of Elijah and Nancy Kirkland in Henry Co, 5th precinct, Alabama [US Census, 1870 Alabama, M593-19, Abberville PO., Henry Co. 334]

1873-76 the family moves to Mississippi where Mary E. (W. W's sister) is born.

1876-80 family moves to Lincoln Co., Well's Bayou Twp., Arkansas [US Census, 1880 Ark. Henry 89]

1890- no census available.

1892 - Jan 6 - marries "Maggie" Terry , daughter of William Smith Terry, a lumber mill and grist mill owner and operator in Ashley Co. Ark.

-23 Nov - a son born, Olea Forrest Kirkland.

Warren is leasing the land that he is dry land farming. He hires local black folks to help him hoe the fields but never makes enough money to get ahead of the always impending drought or storm.

1920's - Robert Kirkland first moves to Roscoe, Texas sometimes in the 1920's. William Kirkland moves down with his son, where they ran a garage and filling station next to the house in which William and Maggie lived.   Robert seems to move back to to Arkansas. by 1930.

1930 - US Census, Roscoe, Nolan Co., Texas   enum. dist.  177-9,  sheet 10a  (Warren and William E. are living next to each other in Roscoe, Texas. They are operating a filling station together)

1941, Feb. 27 - Warren dies in Roscoe, TX. [Sweetwater Cem., Nolan Co., TX]

Maggie Terry moves in with her daughter, Elsa Wood, in Roscoe, Texas. Alva Wood operated a dry goods store for years in Roscoe and Elsa used their home on the main highway as an antique store. In the evening Alva and Elsa would strip and refinish furniture. Their house was crowded with four poster beds, old pianos, and other lovingly restored items. Grandmother Kirkland, when I knew her, was quite old but mobile and very sharp mentally. She did some of the cooking activities for the family.

1958 May 15,- "Maggie" (Terry) Kirkland dies at Roscoe, Tx at age 85. [Sweetwater Cem., Nolan Co., TX]

1993, 1994, 1995, 1996   N. T. Denson is residing 904  -2nd, Roscoe, Texas ,  This is probably Dorothy, or Mrs. N. T. Denson, since Noff died in 1964.
